Snoozing alerts¶
Snoozing silences every alert on one device for a period: during maintenance, a cleaning cycle, a planned shutdown, or a weekly defrost. While a device is snoozed its alerts don't notify anyone. When the snooze ends, they notify as normal again.
Use a snooze rather than switching alerts Off: a snooze ends by itself, so nobody has to remember to turn the alerts back on.
Note
- A snooze covers all the alerts on the device. To silence just one alert, open it and set Active to Off.
- Snoozed alerts can still clear. If an alert was firing when the snooze started and the reading recovers, it clears quietly.
- A problem that starts during the snooze and is still there when the snooze ends is not
announced at that moment. It notifies when the alert next fires.
- Snoozing needs permission to edit the device's location. Without it you'll see "You do not have the appropriate role to snooze alerts."
Snooze a device¶
- Open the location and click its Tables tab.
- In the device's table, click Click to snooze in the Alerts column. (On a device's own panel, click Snooze Alerts instead.)
- The Snooze Alerts window lists the device's existing snoozes. Click New.
-
Fill in:
Field What to enter Reason: Why, for example "Compressor service". It is shown in the list of snoozes Start: When the snooze begins End: When it ends Repeat: Never, Every Day, Every Week, or Customize to tick the days (Repeat every: Sun to Sat) -
Click Save.
Times are in the device's time zone.
To change or cancel a snooze, click it in the list on the left. Change it and click Save, or click Remove to cancel it. Back returns to the list without saving.
On the device, open the menu and choose Snooze Alerts. See Alerts in the mobile app for the steps.
Seeing that a device is snoozed¶
- The device's panel shows its alert status as Snoozed (red) while a snooze is running, or Active/Scheduled to Snooze (orange) when a future snooze is scheduled. Otherwise it shows Active (green).
- In the Snooze Alerts window, a snooze that is running now is marked In Progress.
- Snoozed devices show a distinct snoozed icon in the location's tables and trees rather than red.
